The Huss Center for Women serves women with co-occurring chemical dependency issues and mental illness and will offer a full spectrum of services including inpatient, intensive outpatient, and continuing care. Our person-centered treatment services provide an integrated, interdisciplinary approach that links psychological, biological, and social factors to assist people in the process of recovery. 

We are searching for a Mental Health Support Specialist for an AWAKE overnight position. This role is responsible for ensuring a supportive environment for our residents while they work on their individual visions of wellness and independence.  Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with residents when they are up in the night
  • Positively supporting their return to sleep
  • Providing intervention and de-escalation for clients experiencing mental health symptoms
  • Documenting observable behaviors and symptoms
  • Coaching residents on independent living skills and coping mechanisms
  • Safely administering medications and offer coaching on medication management
  • Completing general housekeeping 

This is an AWAKE Overnight position that will transition between our Women's residential programs. In general, employees must be flexible to attend supervision meetings, monthly staff meetings and ongoing training opportunities as well as meeting the needs of our 24/7 programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Excellent driving record, reliable car, and current auto insurance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in social work, psychology, or human services
  • Previous experience working with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, chemical dependency, developmental disabilities, and/or other health conditions that impact mental health
