Our Advancement team interprets and delivers the mission and vision of People Incorporated to our donors through events and communications. We are searching for a Gift Officer to develop, build and steward relationships with prospects and donors who have the capacity to support our mission with both small and large gifts. In addition this role is responsible for increasing the annual giving of major donors.  Responsibilities include:

  • Cultivating relationships with individuals, families, and sponsors through discovery calls, outreach and connections with current donors
  • Designing individual strategies for gifts that result in increased giving for donors who contribute both small and large amounts
  • Advancing a major gifts initiative that includes identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors
  • Managing and expanding a portfolio of prospects with the capacity to generate major gifts
  • Participating in regular portfolio reviews to create short and long term strategies
  • Managing the development and performance of assigned employees and fundraising database

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
  • Three years of fundraising experience in a nonprofit organization
  • Two years of experience cultivating gifts from individual and corporate donors
  • Proven success in cultivating, soliciting and closing gifts from a wide range of donors
  • Knowledge of tax laws that impact charitable giving, personal assets and estates

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six years of successful fundraising experience in a nonprofit organization
  • Experience with donor databases
  • Successful fundraising experience in an organization that provides services to people with mental health diagnoses
