We are honored to be selected as one of the clinics to launch the first Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) within the United States!  CCBHC are community clinics that offer comprehensive, coordinated and integrated care to children and adults with complex mental and chemical health conditions.  CCBHC will provide outreach, increase access, improve services, and serve as a "one-stop-shop" to those who are currently underserved with mental health and substance use disorders.

We are searching for a searching for a Certified Peer Specialist I (CPS). This position supports and mentors consumers, acting as a mentor and role model to our consumers to inspire hope and share life experiences and lessons learned as a person in recovery. We work collaboratively with other team members and with consumers to develop a person-centered treatment plan that best meets each consumer's goals.  Duties include:

  • Actively participating in all team meetings and promoting a recovery perspective as a key component of all discussions with all members of the team
  • Modeling a recovery approach and demonstrating coping skills
  • Supporting our consumers with skill development training in socialization, problem solving, self-awareness, and awareness of others
  • Facilitating the development of recovery skills including mental / chemical health management
  • Providing opportunities for recipients receiving services to direct their own recovery process
  • Demonstrating cultural sensitivity and competence relevant to the needs of the recipients in recovery
  • Providing instruction, modeling and feedback in the area of supportive living skills
  • Modeling completion of chores

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED and minimum of 21 years of age
  • Primary diagnosis of mental illness
  • Current or former consumer of mental health services
  • Current and valid Minnesota Driver's License and auto insurance with a clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Certified Peer Specialist through
  • Experience working with people who have serious and persistent mental illness, chemical dependency, seizures, epilepsy, and/or other high barriers to services
