We are searching for a searching for a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist I (CPRS). Peer Recovery Specialists are individuals who, through a non-clinical approach, share their personal recovery experience, engage with individuals to offer reassurance, reduce fears, answer questions, support motivation and convey hope throughout the treatment and recovery process. The employee will:

  • Coordinate and participate in the assessment and intake process for each client
  • Serve as an advocate and liaison on behalf of the client's rights
  • Provide peer support to those experiencing substance use disorder symptoms
  • Provide guidance, encouragement, education and skill-building around wellness planning, crisis planning, and self-advocacy
  • Act as a liaison between the clinical team and clients to ensure each client's needs and preferences are understood and honored whenever possible

Position will entail facilitating twice weekly Peer Support Group from 12-1pm in outpatient.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED and minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must be free from substance use disorder issues for at least one year immediately preceding hiring
  • Demonstrate leadership and advocacy skills, and have a strong dedication to recovery
  • Current and valid Minnesota Driver's License and auto insurance with a clean driving record
  • Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist through

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with people who have serious and persistent mental illness, chemical dependency, seizures, epilepsy, and/or other high barriers to services
