We are offering an INTERNSHIP at Huss Center for Recovery to graduate students enrolled in a master's level program in Psychology, Social Work, Professional Counseling or Marriage & Family Therapy. This is an unpaid internship


Provide recovery based therapeutic interventions with people who are faced with various aspects of mental illness and/or substance use. Responsibilities of the intern will include performing direct clinical care in both a group and individual setting

Learn how to work with a diverse population and how to participate on a multi-disciplinary team in providing person-centered treatment

Become proficient in clinical documentation including report preparation, completing assessments and other items required to maintain program licensing standards and guidelines required for reimbursement

Develop knowledge of agency and external resource and referrals while also working to coordinate care of clients and problem-solve barriers to meeting individual recovery goals (e.g. housing, financial, psychiatry, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

Current registration in an accredited Master's degree program in Psychology, Social Work, Professional Counseling or Marriage & Family Therapy

Completed coursework in basic counseling skills practice and methods related to individuals with a Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and/or substance use disorder(s)

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to communicate effectively in writing and to prepare written and electronic documents

Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation and record keeping.

Time Commitment:

Huss Center for Recovery's programs operate a variety of hours, including 24/7 programs. Depending on the specific site/program, hours and days will vary. Schedule will be determined with supervisor prior to start date.
